Week of 9/28-10/4

This week has probably been of the most hectic for me in terms of building my startup. My team and I have constantly revised and eventually finalized a draft Lean Canvas (Business Plan). Even though it has been "finalized", there is no doubt that we will need to iterate it as we pivot our idea along the way. Aside from just building a Lean Canvas, I have also gotten in touch with some professionals in my field through iStart Valley and hope to grow my connections with them as they may be my guide toward building my startup successfully.
Last week I mentioned that our team was also creating a survey in order to gather customer data and demographics to determine our product-market fit. As of now, my team and I have made the survey and are in the process of sending it out to friends, family, and others in order to gather as much customer data and demographic data as possible. If we are able to acquire more of this data, we are able to get a more accurate interpretation of our product-market fit. I believe this to be our greatest challenge yet in the phases of development as it can be hard to reach people at times and the chances of people actually completing the survey. Knowing our product-market fit won't guarantee that our startup is successful no matter how good our product-market fit maybe but, it will indicate exactly where we are and allow us to take great leaps if needed.
As for my goals in the coming weeks, I hope to start and complete a Design Thinking course offered by Stanford University through our internship in order to gain more knowledge about the mindset of an entrepreneur and how they utilize design thinking when developing a successful startup. I also hope to acquire data from customers and use this data to determine a product-market fit so it can help me understand where our startup stands.
