Approaching

Week of 4/19 - 4/25

As the weeks go by, I am suddenly approaching the end of my original work. This past week really felt like the 4th quarter of a football game. The quarter where both teams will push the hardest to win the game. In my case, the game seems one-sided. I am not saying this to take advantage of the deadline but, to acknowledge myself on how far I have made it through my Original work and especially how far I made it this week.

This was the week where I added the finishing touches to my Original Work and started making my final presentation. The final touches I had to add to my Original work was adding the Startup Finance slides to my pitch deck. You would think that transferring information from charts to a PowerPoint wouldn't be that hard however, it seemed like one of the most exhausting things I had to do for my Original work so far. It was hard to find pie charts and bar graphs that looked great and matched the presentation aesthetic because consistency is everything in a pitch deck. Even some of the smallest details in a pitch can make some of the biggest differences and could speak differently to the audience or investors.

After about 4 long hours on a Saturday night, I finally completed the finance portion of my pitch deck. Now, my next step is to get my entire pitch deck reviewed by my mentor this Friday to see where I need to make changes and improvements because even though I put a lot of effort into my work, there's always plenty I can improve upon. I will also continue to work on my final presentation and have it wrapped up by the end of this week with a memorized speech so I am ready to present for my final presentation rehearsal next week. I have really walked the walk this week in my ISM journey however, the journey isn't over yet and I still have plenty more steps to take.
