Week of 1/4 - 1/10

Coming back from a long break, it's sometimes hard to pick up where you left off. Now that the 2nd semester is here, I will be pushed to do way more work, give ten times more effort, and be twenty times more responsible. Before the break, I completed an original work proposal which stated what I was going to do for my original work. The original work must demonstrate that we have sophisticated knowledge about our topic and must show our passion. So you can imagine the challenge this will be for me. Our original works are showcased and presented on the final presentation night in May.

For my original work, I am doing a pitch deck as if I were pitching in front of investors. Seems like a very basic thing to do for an entrepreneur, however, creating a pitch for an actual startup takes a while as there are many steps to be completed in the process. I am basing my original work on what I am doing in Incubatoredu with my team. Recently, we pivoted our idea so we have a lot to recover from before we are completely back on track. This week, we redid our entire business model canvas since our product is very different from before. Outside of my team, I have met with my mentor Mrs. Patil, to tell her about my original work and seek guidance for the next steps. Since our startup is technology-based, she talked a lot about what technology we would need to use as well as who to talk to that has experience with this technology. My mentor requested that by next week that we have a solution ideation done so that she is able to give good feedback on the solution, bringing me one step further in my original work.

After a long break, I would say that I have made progress as I have returned back to school however, it will only get challenging from this point forward. Something as big as an original work must be one of my highest priorities if not my highest and I must be willing to walk that extra mile to make it my best and get something out of the experience. Next week, I hope to have a thorough solution ideation of our product as well as having a script for our customer interviews to acquire customer data in the coming weeks. This is only the beginning of my journey on a long path ahead.
